Summary of “Desert, Mountain, Sea”


The book is divided in 3 stories.
The first, Robyn Davidson went to Alice Springs because she want cross the desert to Australia. She searched a job and found a job into a camel’s farm. During the time that she work, she got 2 camels. Later she bought two more. She started her voyage and arrived a new town where a man offer to she by come with she. But in the middle to the way, he return to his house. She was near to the ocean. One night, her dog poisioned and she killed to it. In the end, they arrived to ocean.
The second, is a group of girls directed by Arlene, want climb to Anapurna (a mountain near to Everest). They travell from San Francisco to Nepal. When they started the voyage, the sherpas recomended that no bring up, but they bringu up and set a Base Camp. A pair to girls bring up to put a camp 1 up. A few days later, they want arrive to camp 4. But for can arrive to camp 5 and ti summit, only three persons can go it. Arlene have that think very much, because is very dangerous. It can have avalanche. In the end, Arlene decide that go to it three girls and one sherpa. But the experience resulted tragic, because dead 2 girls.
The third, Naomi is a girl that like her is travel. She knew a sailor, and they married. He teach things about sail. She, one day, decide sail around the world alone. The first, is very dificult by her, but she acostumate it with time. She write what happen in her book. When she arrive to Cape Town she stop there for mend some problems. She travel from Cape Town to Tasmania. There she receive some letters of her family. Later she go from Tasmania to Cabe Horn. Here do very cold and wind, but this not prevent that she can go to her home. Where her family was waiting.
